Hong Kong Logistics Association Launches First ESG Rating System
Leading the Sustainable Development of the Logistics Industry

In response to the increasing global demands for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), the Hong Kong Logistics Association (HKLA) has taken the lead by launching the first ESG SCM assessment and accreditation program for the logistics industry. This initiative aims to promote green transformation and innovative development in the logistics sector, steering it towards a new realm of sustainable development.
HKLA’s ESG SCM assessment and accreditation program has received strong support from the Transport and Logistics Bureau, with 80% of the ESG accreditation course funded by the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund (MATF) provided by the bureau. Notably, entities such as the Airport Authority Hong Kong, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and U-Freight Limited have participated in the ESG assessment.
The ESG SCM assessment system by HKLA not only helps companies comprehensively enhance their performance in environmental protection, social responsibility, and good governance, but also improves their corporate image, strengthens market competitiveness, increases financing capacity, and attracts the attention of investors and customers.
The ESG SCM assessment and accreditation courses offered by HKLA provide participating companies with professional guidance and support, helping them make solid strides on the path to sustainable development. Additionally, these companies receive a detailed assessment report, which not only lists their ESG scores in logistics supply chain services but also provides targeted improvement suggestions.
