With a superior geographical location and well-developed logistics network, Hong Kong is one of the famous international logistics centers in the globe. While the market is changing under the influence of globalization, the development of the Great Bay Area as well as e-commerce, it has high expectation on the cold chain logistic service. Hence, it is of utmost importance for the logistics industry in Hong Kong to establish a set of “Code of Practice for Cold Chain Logistics Management System”.
To meet the needs of the industry and the community, the Hong Kong Logistics Association has been granted by the Trade and Industry Institutions Support Fund of the Trade and Industry Department to develop a code of practice for the “Cold Chain Logistics Management System”. Under the scheme, not only can the industry be equipped with most updated industrial knowledge, but also the industry can be benefited from an optimized managerial and operational procedure.
For Hong Kong cold chain logistics service agencies, internal cold chain logistics departments of relevant parties , including import and export transportation, local transportation and distribution, refrigerated goods handling, storage, packaging and repackaging, hygiene and safety operators and practitioners
